Maruti Suzuki opens booking of 2021 Celerio in India, likely to launch soon

Maruti Suzuki has finally started the booking for the second generation of Maruti Suzuki Celerio in India. The automaker made the announcement today (November 2). The interested buyers for Maruti Celerio can book the new generation of Celerio at just a token amount of Rs 11,000. With this new generation of Maruti Suzuki Celerio, the company will bring a bunch of updates. Both exterior and interior updates will be found in the 2021 edition of Celerio.

According to Maruti Suzuki, the new generation of Celerio will get upgrade in interiors, features and an overall performance. The Celerio has been popular among the middle class buyers of India and the new generation is expected to take the legacy further. The Executive Director of Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Shashank Srivastava said in a media brief that the new celerio will feature segment first features and will heat up the compact segment. The 2021 celerio will be an all-rounder and will be in demand among the urban, progressive and aspirational customers, feels Shashank Srivastava.

Engine

When it comes to engine, the new Celerio will be powered by a next-generation of k-series dual-jet engine. The 2021 Celerio will inherit the swift’s 1.2-l petrol engine that produces 90PS of power and 113Nm of power.The popular hatchback also gets the idle start-stop feature to increase the mileage. Maruti has refrained itself from revealing the power and torque fiqures of the Celerio.

Features

The 2021 version of the Maruti Suzuki Celerio is expected to support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay alongwith SmartPlay infotainment system. The new generation of the popular hatchback will be comfier than its predecessor. The new features will include new center console, multi-information display, multi-functional steering wheel, adjustable ORVMs that are electric, brand new upholstery etc. Some of the safety features like reverse parking sensors, ABS with EBD, dual front airbags etc might be available.

Price

We expect that the new Celerio will be priced somewhere between Rs 4.5 to Rs 6.5 lakh (avg ex-showroom price) in India. The 2021 Celerio will rival the Hyundai Santro, Tata Tiago, Renault Kwid, Maruti Wagon R etc.
