Earlier this year, Mahindra & Mahindra had officially named its upcoming SUV ‘W601’ as the XUV700. The XUV700 it is estimated to arrive in the market in the third quarter of 2021 and is anticipated to be a game-changer.
Now, Mahindra has reportedly trademarked the XUV900 name for its upcoming SUV. Even though the company has not disclosed any details about the SUV, it is expected that it will be a full-sized premium SUV.
The XUV900 is expected to be introduced in the near future as a replacement to the Alturas G4 and may rival cars such as Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, MG Gloster and upcoming Isuzu MU-X.
The Mahindra XUV900 is expected to be placed in a more premium price range than the XUV 700 with a more powered turbo diesel engine. The premium car will likely offered in multiple seating configurations and good off-roading abilities.

Additionally, an assortment of connectivity, radar-based safety and other assistive features could be available on the vehicle. The presence of multi drive modes can also be expected in the car.
Just like the upcoming Mahindra XUV700, the upcoming Mahindra XUV900 could have a twin-screen layout including one for touchscreen and the other for digital instrumentation.
The new Mahindra XUV700 will be introduced before Diwali during the festive season. The new model will be offered in 6-and 7-seat layout with 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine.The SUV will have either a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission with an optional all-wheel-drive system.
Mahindra has also revealed that much popular XUV500 will be discontinued temporarily after the launch of the XUV700. Is is expected that Mahindra will launch the XUV500 with some upgrade. However, there is no official announcement about the future of XUV500 by the company.
