Mahindra XUV700 proves its user safety, scores 5 stars in Global NCAP crash test

Since its launch Mahindra XUV 700 is making news for all good reasons. In terms of bookings the SUV has already surpassed 70,000 bookings. This shows that mass appeal of the XUV 700 to Indian audiences. Now, the results for Mahindra XUV700 crash test have been out and this has left us in awe. The Global NCAP has given five star rating to Mahindra XUV700 in its crash test.

The Global New Car Assessment Programme (Global NCAP) has performed crash tests on more than 30 made in India cars and has found some amazing results. The recent vehicle to be tested by NCAP is Mahindra XUV700. In terms of adult occupation the SUV scores 16.03 out of 17. However, for adult and child occupation the SUV scores 41.66 out of 49 points.

The model tested by Global NCAP was equipped with most basic features which included dual airbags, ABS, and Isofix child seat anchorages. Given the segment and the initial price of the vehicle, it is estimated that the scores are quite good.

The Mahindra XUV700 SUV was introduced with a price of Rs 11.99 lakh (ex showroom). However, it was later revised after the first initital 25,000 booking to Rs 12.49 lakh (ex showroom). The price of the top-spec trim AX7 Luxury (7 seater) +AWD SUV is at Rs 22.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

 

Some details of the vehicle can be summed under the following heads:

Engine: The XUV 700 gets diesel as well as petrol engine variants. The 2 litre petrol engine generates a power of 200hp and a torque of 380 Nm. The 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine offers 185hp power and a torque of 420 Nm.

Interior: The XUV 700 gets a 10.25 inch infotainment system and a support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The cabin gets 6 speakers and an efficient sound system.

Safety modes: The SUV gets Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) as well as Forward Collision Warning (FCW). Some of the important other features are driver drowsiness detection, cruise control, smart pilot assist, traffic sign recognition etc.
