Kia Registers Kia Soul Nameplate In India, Will The Popular Hatch back Debut In India

Kia has registered the nameplate of its hatchback car ‘Soul’ in India. Even though the Kia Soul is being sold across the globe it is yet to be launched in India.

With the registration of the ‘Soul’ nameplate, it is expected that the carmaker will launch the car in India. However, there has been no confirmation yet about the launch of the car by Kia.

The Kia Soul EV was showcased in India at the Auto Expo 2020.

Speaking about the dimensions of the car, it measures 4195mm x 1800mm x 1605mm in terms of length, width and height. The Kia Soul shares a similar footprint to the Hyundai Kona Electric except for the tall-boy design.

The Kia Soul is offered in petrol as well as electric variants. The standard variant is offered in 2.0- litre naturally aspirated unit along with a 1.6- litre turbo-petrol variant.

However, the Soul EV gets a choice of two battery pack sizes. While the 64kWh is opted for a long range, the 39.2kWh is preferred for standard range. The larger battery pack is coupled with a 201hp electric motor while the standard battery pack gets a 136hp electric unit.
