Reliance Jio has introduced a new entry level broadband plan that is priced for as low as Rs. 198 per month. The plan is called the Broadband Back-up plan and will come with a top Internet speed of 10 megabit per second.

Prior to the launch of this plan,  the minimum price for availing Jio Fiber connection was Rs 399 per month. The new plan offers unlimited data at 10mbps and unlimited voice calls without bundling any over-the-top platforms.

Apart from this, the telecom operator will also provide the option to upgrade the Internet speed to 30 mbps or 100 for 1 to 7 days by paying in the range of Rs 21 to Rs 152 under this plan.

Currently, Jio has the largest user base in the fixed line connection segment with 84 lakh customers, which accounts to almost 30.6 percent market share.

If a customer wants a new JioFiber connection then they have to pay Rs 1,490 for the service. It includes five month of usage and installation charges.

Recently, Jio’s rival Bharti Airtel revised the prepaid and postpaid mobile phone tariffs. While Airtel increased entry level prices in the pre-paid segment, it bundles postpaid plans with a high amount of data, unlimited 5G data use etc. in an aim to get high ARPU (average revenue per user) generating customers.
