Reliance Jio is gearing up to launch its wireless internet solution called Jio AirFiber on September 19. Jio has claimed that the wireless internet solution will provide incredibly fast speeds of up to 1.5 Gbps. The subscribers can enjoy high-definition video streaming, online gaming, and lag-free video conferencing with the high speed data.
The chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani, introduced the Jio AirFiber at the company’s 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM) event. He had hinted that the Jio AirFiber would have its official launch on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
The highlight of the Jio AirFiber is it’s wireless unlike the Jio Fiber which uses wired fiber optic cables for its network coverage. Jio AirFiber uses point-to-point radio links for it’s wireless connectivity. This makes connection easier and less messy. With Jio AirFiber, you can directly connect between homes and offices through wireless signals, eliminating the need for fiber cables and depending on clear line-of-sight communication with Jio towers.
Jio AirFiber will be equipped with features such as parental controls, support for Wi-Fi 6, and an integrated security firewall.
Jio AirFiber utilizes 5G technology to provide high-speed internet access, said Jio. It delivers speeds comparable to traditional fiber-optic connections, giving users the choice to enjoy speeds of up to 1 Gbps.
The upcoming Jio AirFiber might be more expensive than a regular broadband connection. Jio AirFiber’s price is expected to be around Rs 6,000. The higher could be because of the inclusion of the portable device unit.
