Jet Airways shares fall 10%

New Delhi: Shares of Jet Airways plunged 10 per cent in opening trade on Thursday, a day after the ailing airline shuttered its operations temporarily.

On the BSE, the scrip hit the lower circuit of Rs 217.70, a fall of 10 per cent compared to the previous closing level.

Similar trend was witnessed on the NSE too, where the share crashed to hit the lower price band of Rs 216.45.

Jet Airways on Wednesday announced a temporary suspension of operations as the much needed and the promised interim funding of Rs 1,500 crore had not been infused by SBI and other 9 lenders of the airline.

Meanwhile, Civil Aviation Secretary Pradeep Singh Kharola today held meeting with airport authorities to coordinate and address any emerging issues on capacity, slots and passenger convenience, following cessation of the Jet Airways flights.
