Bhubaneswar: In the special Diwali trading this week, demand for gold jumped in the state, but high prices took some sheen off the yellow metal’s lure during the key festival period this year.
Gold price jumped 76 rupees per 10 grams in the State capital on Friday.
Traders said the gold price was supported among others by increased buying activity driven by the ongoing festive seasonal demand on the auspicious occasion of ‘Diwali’.
In line with gold, silver rebounded on increased off-take by coin makers and other consumers.
