Fisker Ocean: This upcoming SUV can give a range of 563km on full charge, offers solar roof and other features

The electric vehicle market is heating up across the world as more and more vehicle manufacturers are entering it. Electric-vehicle start-up Fisker is all set to enter the market with its brand new SUV ‘Fisker Ocean’. The Fisker Ocean electric SUV primarily aims to compete with the Tesla Model Y. The start-up (Fisker) has unveiled the features of the upcoming Ocean series during the Los Angeles Auto Show this week.

Fisker is expected to enter the production of Ocean series in November 2022. The SUV will be available in three different variants- Extreme, Ultra and Sport. The automaker promises a whopping range of 563km in a single charge for Extreme variant while the Ultra and Sport offer a range of 547km and 402km respectively.

In terms of cost, the Fisker Ocean Extreme will be priced at $68,999 and is supposed to have the have the highest horsepower. It is the most priced among the whole Ocean series. Meanwhile, the Ocean Ultra costs $49,999 and is next to the Ocean Extreme in terms of price and power. As reported by Insider, the Ocean Ultra will have 540 hp and can achieve 0-60 mph (97 kmph) in a matter of 3.9 seconds. The base Ocean Sport variant costs $37,999 and is assumed to be the most affordable among the three SUVs.

The Ocean SUV offers a bunch of interesting features for the buyers (some optional and standard) which includes a solar roof and Hollywood mode. The roof of the Fisker Ocean SUVs (top of the line) is capable of providing up to 2000 miles of driving per year. This feature seems to be an interesting feature (if you have proper sunny days). On the other hand, enabling the Hollywood mode on the SUV rotates the touchscreen from landscape to portrait. In case of an emergency, the Ocean SUV is capable to power the home of the owner and charge other electric vehicles too.

The manufacturer has clarified that the first 5000 Fisker cars will be Ocean Extremes. Keeping in the mind about the EV infrastructure in India, we are quite unsure about its launch in India.
