BSNL Employees To Go On Indefinite Strike From Dec 3

New Delhi: The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Employees’ Union has informed that BSNL employees will go on an indefinite strike from December 3 over non-issuance of the third pay revision.

The Union members also wrote to Communication Minister Manoj Sinha and sought a level-playing field for the company in comparison to other major players in the telecom sector.

In the letter, it was mentioned that thousands of workers (Non-Executives and Executives of BSNL) are retiring every month. Eventually, issues of their third pay revision are still pending despite clear commitment given to them.

The Employees Union said it is expecting at least 15 percent enhancement in pay and payment of pension by BSNL besides revision of pension to BSNL retirees with effect from 01.01.2017. The Employees Union also sought the allotment of 4G spectrum to BSNL.

Meanwhile, the Centre of Indian Trade Union has supported the demands of BSNL employees and claimed that the allotment of 4G spectrum to BSNL is being deliberately delayed by the government to pave way for private telecom operators at the expense of BSNL.
