Bharat Sanchar Nigar Limited (BSNL) has increased its preparedness for the rollout of 4G services across the country and it is visible from the increasing connections. It is reported by Telecomtalk that there were 2.17 lakh new connections in the month of July in the state of Andhra Pradesh. With this update, the maximum number of connections in the State has increased to 40 lakhs, mentioned a report by BSNL Andhra Pradesh on social media platform X.
As private telecom service providers have increased their tariff, the customers have opted for BSNL and this is a positive sign for the company. The company will be launching 4G services in major cities of Andhra Pradesh from August 15, mentioned reports. The company is also running special camps for users in order to switch their 2G SIM cards to 4G.
It is reported that the BSNL 4G services will be activated across the state by of September. The works carried out by BSNL include antennas, base transceiver stations (BTS), core network etc. The BSNL AP is also expanding its network to tribal areas with 1200 new towers in various areas. The services will be available across villages of districts including Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, East Godavari, Kurnool, and other districts.
It is also reported that out of the new activations, 90 percent of users preferred the Rs 249 recharge plan. The plan offers validity of 45 days and that includes 2GB data per day along with unlimited calls, 100 SMS per day. The BSNL users in AP can expect 4G services across the state till the end of September. However they are expected to have a compatible 4G SIM as well as have a compatible 4G handset.
