Volkswagen ID.4 will be the first all-electric car by the company in India

Volkswagen is all set to launch its all-electric car-ID.4 in India by 2023. However, the cars are expected to be brought to India via the CBU route. There will not be any manufacturing of the Volkswagen ID.4 in India as the company will need to set up heavy infrastructure for it. A limited number of Volkswagen ID.4 is expected to be sold in India in the initial year of launch.

The trial of the upcoming all-electric car by Volkswagen is expected to start in August/ September of this year (2022). The ID.4 is expected to serve as a trial for the company’s upcoming electric cars in India. Few days earlier, Kia Motors launched its all-electric car Kia EV6 in India. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is expected to launch in the upcoming months of this year (2022). The ID.6 is expected to compete with the likes of Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5.

The Volkswagen ID.4 is already available in the international markets. There are two versions of the ID.4 available for the buyers. The single motor variant is expected to come with a 77 kWh battery. The peak power offered on the car is 201 BHP, while the maximum torque is 310 Nm. On the other hand, the dual electric motor model will be a powerful variant and churn out 295BHP of power. While the single motor variant will be an RWD, the dual-motor variant will be an AWD car.

When it comes to the range of the Volkswagen ID.4, the RWD variant will offer a range of 520km on a full charge. On the other hand, the AWD variant of the Volkswagen ID.4 will offer a range of 480km on a 100 percent battery. There will be an option for 125W DC fast charging on the Volkswagen ID.4.

When it comes to the price of the Volkswagen all-electric car, it is estimated to be around Rs 50 lakh to Rs 60 lakh.
