Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder unveiled in India, Check engine specifications and features

The much anticipated Toyota SUV- Urban Cruiser Hyryder has been unveiled in India. The SUV will be available across multiple powertrains and will be Hybrid version. The Urban Cruiser Hyryder is expected to launch in August. The bookings of the upcoming SUV have officially opened in India. Interested buyers can book the SUV at Toyota officially website or at dealership. The token amount for booking is Rs 25,000.

Engine

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder will be offered in multiple engine options- 1.5-litre Maruti engine (K15C) or Toyota’s 1.5-litre TNGA Atkinson cycle engine. The 1.5-litre TNGA Atkinson cycle engine is present on other cars of Toyota like the Yaris hatchback and Yaris Cross SUV. On the other hand the Maruti K15C engine is present on multiple Maruti Suzuki cars like the Brezza, Ertiga and XL6.

The Toyota 1.5-litre TNGA Atkinson cycle engine offers a total power of 115hp. On the other hand, the 1.5-litre Maruti engine (K15C) offers 103hp power and a torque of 135Nm.

Transmission and Drivetrain

The 1.5-litre Maruti engine is 4-cyllinder and is offered in 5-speed Manual Transmission (MT) and 6-speed Automatic Transmission (AT). The drivetrain on the engine is FWD or AWD (MT only).

On the other hand, the Toyota 1.5-litre, 3-cyllinder engine is offered in e-CVT transmission and FWD drivetrain.

Design

The Hyryder gets a grille similar to that of Maruti Glanza and a chrome strip between the twin LED DRLs. The front grille is huge in comparision to the headlamps. There is also a presence of C-shaped tail-lights that extend to the tailgate. There is a presence of Hybrid badging on the front doors below the rear view mirrors.

Interior

When it comes to the interior of the SUV, it gets a dual-tone leather finish on the dashboard.  While the full hybrid version of the car gets a dual-tone interior, the mild-hybrid models get all-black interiors.

Features

The Hyryder gets panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, digital instrument cluster, heads-up display, connected car tech and voice assist, 360-degree camera, cooled seats, 17-inch alloy wheels.

Safety features on the SUV include up to 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, hill-hold assist along with multiple driving modes.

Price

We expect the prices of the new Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder to start from Rs 10 lakh and might go up to Rs 18 lakh.
