Tata Motors to debut 4 new cars including 2 EVs, 2 SUVs

Tata Motors has launched the new Nexon EV MAX in India on Wednesday at a price of Rs 17.74 lakh. The company is planning to launch 4 new cars in India in the next 1 year. The upcoming launches includes 2 new EVs and facelifts of its existing SUV models.

Tata Harrier Facelift

Tata Harrier, the company’s popular mid-sized SUV is reportedly going to receive a noticeable mid-life update next year. According to reports, the new Tata Harrier facelift will arrive in the first half of 2023. The new model will come with advanced technologies, cosmetic design changes and a petrol engine.

The new Tata Harrier facelift is being called the Project Q5MCE internally. It will likely feature new front grille, revised headlamps ADAS (advanced driver assistance system), a 360 degree camera and new set of alloys. The SUV is also expected to come with a new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that is likely to produce around 150bhp. The engine may get automatic gearbox, paddle shifters and multiple drive modes.

Tata Safari Facelift

Tata Safari, another popular SUV from Tata Motors, is also likely to receive a mid-life facelift in 2023. Reports have suggested that the new Harrier and Safari facelift are currently undergoing testing. It will come with some design changes as well as upgraded interior and advanced technologies. It may get a new engine option as well.

The new Tata Safari facelift is likely come with features like new instrument console, an updated touchscreen infotainment system, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking and others. It will also receive ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). It may get a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine with automatic gearbox and a paddle shifters like the Harrier facelift.

Tata Altroz EV

Tata Motors had showcased the pre-production version of the Altroz EV at the 2020 Auto Expo and it is expected to be launched before the end of this year. The company has already began testing the production version of the hatchback. The new Tata Altroz EV comes with revised front and rear bumpers, a closed-off grille, air dams with star pattern, new alloy wheels with blue highlights and blacked-out section of the tailgate. The inside of the cabin will also be updated with Blue highlights, a lighter upholstery and a rotary gear selector.

The company has not revealed the exact details about the engine option yet. It is speculated that it will receive Tata’s updated Ziptron electric technology that will be offered on the NEXON EV MAX.

Tata Punch EV

Tata Punch will be also coming in a electronic avatar. The micro SUV is expected to be launched in 2023. This will likely be the cheapest electric offering of the company in our market. It is likely to use the Ziptron EV powertrain technology that powers the Nexon EV and the Tigor EV.

It will likely come with a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack powering a 129bhp, electric motor mounted on the front axle. The Punch based EV is likely to come with the updated electric powertrain offering that may deliver a expected range of over 300km. The engine will produce a power and torque outputs of 100PS and 200NM respectively.
