Skoda Octavia achieves sales milestone of 1 lakh units in India

Skoda Octavia has been on the Indian roads since its first launch in 2001 and is still one of the popular sedans available in the country. The popular sedan has crossed the sales milestone of 1 lakh figures in India. Even though the popularity of sedans is less in India, the Skoda Octavia has managed to achieve a sale of more than 1 lakh.

2013: Third-generation of Octavia (A7) was launched

2017: Octavia gets a mid-life update

2021: Fourth-generation Octavia (A8) launched

Origin: The OCTAVIA name of the sedan is derived from has a Latin origin and denotes the number 8. The first generation Octavia was introduced internationally in 1996. There were a bunch of technological features that were offered in the car including side airbags, power steering as well as turbocharged engines.

Features of the 4th generation Octavia

The 2021 Skoda Octavia gets a sole 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 7 speed automatic (DCT) gearbox. The engine churns out a maximum of 190PS power and 320Nm of torque. However, unlike the earlier generation of Octavia, the 2021 model does not get a diesel variant.

In terms of safety, the car offers eight airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill hold control, climate control, powered tailgate etc.

The sedan is available in five colour schemes of Lava Blue, Candy White, Magic Black, Brilliant Silver, and Maple Brown.

The new Octavia is launched in two trims of Style and Laurin and Klement (L&K). While the Skoda Octavia Style will cost Rs 26.85 lakh the Skoda Octavia Laurin and Klement costs Rs 29.85 lakh.
