Prices of Toyota Glanza and Urban Cruiser hiked in India, new prices to be effective from May 1

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced a price hike for Toyota Glanza and Toyota Urban Cruiser in India. The new prices of Glanza and Urban Cruiser will be effective from May 1. The company has stated that the price hike is a result of rising raw material costs. Recently the company had earlier announced that it has achieved the milestone of selling 20 lakh cars in India.

Toyota is not the only automaker that is implementing price hike on its cars. In the earlier part of 2022, car manufacturers like Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Tata had announced price hike. Earlier this month, Toyota had hiked the prices of some of its models available in India. Toyota Fortuner SUV which is one of the best-selling cars of the company has received a price hike of up to Rs 1.2 lakh.

Toyota Glanza which is based on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno had recently received an update. The price of the premium hatchback currently starts at Rs 6.39 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.69 lakh.  The hatchback gets a 1197cc petrol engine with manual and automatic transmission. The 1.2-litre petrol engine churns maximum power of 88.50 bhp and maximum torque of 113Nm. The boot space of the car is 318 litres while the fuel tank capacity is 37 litres. The ARAI mileage of the Toyota Glanza is 22.97 kmpl.

The Urban Cruiser gets a 1462cc petrol engine just like Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Urban Cruiser is currently priced between Rs 8.88 lakh and Rs 11.58 lakh. The SUV gets maximum power of 103.26bhp and peak torque of 138Nm. Both automatic and manual transmission variants are offered on the SUV. The boot space is 328 litres while the fuel tank capacity 48 litres. The ARAI mileage of the Toyota Urban Cruiser is 18.76 kmpl. As Maruti is expected to launch the Brezza in this year, we can hope a facelifted version of the Urban Cruiser.
