MG Motors has revealed that it’s new Electric Vehicle could be launched in India sometime in the first half of 2023. It could be a affordable EV car that could slot in below the current MG ZS EV.
Earlier, MG Motors had said that it is developing a low-cost EV car for the Indian market. Now, the carmaker has confirmed the price range and launch timeline for its new EV in India. The new EV of MG Motor will be launched first half of next year and will come priced between Rs 10-15 lakh (ex-showroom).
The company aims to expand the company’s electric portfolio and attract a larger customer base by offering a city-friendly crossover at a Rs 10 lakh price range in the country. It will slot in below the MG ZS EV in the Indian market. MG Motors has also confirmed that the model will be based on an international platform.
Apart from this, the company has not revealed any other information about the upcoming EV yet. However, it is expected to offer a range of approximately 300km on a single charge. The model, upon launch, could rival the likes of the Nexon EV.
Rajeev Chaba, MG Motor India President and MD, had earlier highlighted the company plans to introduce an “electric crossover based on a global platform” by 2023.

MG will put the price of the new EV from Rs 10 to 15 lakh range in India and plans to introduce the vehicle sometime in the first half of 2023. The car will be based on an already established international platform.
