Maruti WagonR Facelift spotted ahead of expected February launch

Maruti Suzuki is going to launch eight new vehicles this year. The 2022 Maruti Wagon R facelift is among the list of upcoming vehicles. According to reports, we are expecting the facelifted Wagon R to go on sale later this month. Now, the Maruti Wagon R facelift has been spied for the first time ahead of its official launch.

The spy video shows the 2022 WagonR with minimalistic styling updates. The facelifted WagonR seems to have received a slightly tweaked grille, and bigger blacked-out alloy wheels. The Maruti Wagon R 2022 model was seen with a new Red dual-tone shade with a blacked-out roof. However, the updated WagonR’s headlamp and tail lamp design and bumpers seem to be identical to the outgoing model.

The company is expected to make some changes to the interior. Inside the cabin, the 2022 Wagon R could get a new upholstery.

Speaking about the car’s features, the 2022 WagonR could get engine idle start-stop and hill hold assist (only for the AMT variants) features. While the other feature could be same as the current model like the existing 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, steering-mounted audio/phone controls, and electrically operated ORVMs.

The company may continue to pack the same engine and transmission options in the facelifted Wagon R. The current WagonR is avaialble with a 68PS 1-litre and 83PS 1.2-litre petrol engines. Both the engine comes paired with 5-speed manual and AMT units. The company will continue to offer an optional CNG kit with the 1-litre engine.

The 2022 Maruti Wagon R facelift is expected to be priced a little higher than the current prices, which range from Rs 5.18 lakh to Rs 6.58 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The updated WagonR is going to compete against the likes of the Maruti Celerio, Tata Tiago, and Hyundai Santro.
