Mahindra Scorpio-N Safety: Rohit Shetty will need Nuclear Bomb to blow up the SUV, says Anand Mahindra

Mahindra Scorpio-N is going to debut on 27th June, 2022. Reports have suggested that the company may reveal the price of the device on the same day as the launch. Mahindra has officially revealed the Scorpio N digitally.

Ahead of its launch, Anand Mahindra has recently tweeted jokingly that Rohit Shetty will require a nuclear bomb to blow up the Mahindra ScorpioN. As you all might have known, filmmaker Rohit Shetty movies have many scenes where cars were blown up (usually Scorpio’s) in action scenes. That means we can assume that the new Mahindra Scorpio-N will come with a solid safety features.

Now, let’s know about what the new Mahindra Scorpio-N in detail as the company, reports and spy shot have suggested in these days.

Many spy shots of the vehicle have surfaced on the internet ahead of its launch that has detailed some of the design and specifications of the Scorpio-N.

New Mahindra Scorpio-N features

According to the spy shots, the Mahindra Scorpio-N will come with many features including an electric sunroof, steering mounted controls, semi digital instrument cluster and a vertically mounted touchscreen infotainment unit. The Scorpio-N is also expected to have the Wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Alexa connectivity. We will see a upgraded cabin with premium quality materials and upholstery.

The latest spy shots have revealed that the 2022 Scorpio-N will feature a front facing third row and the 2nd row seat will need to be collapse to get to the 3rd row. The Scorpio-N will use standard front-facing seats that will help to improve the seating experience for third row passengers. This arrangement will also increase the safety too. The ScorpioN is also expected to be provided in 6 and 7 seater versions where the 6-seater versions will come along with Captain Seats. The 6-seater versions could see high demand especially for customers who prefer to have chauffeur driven vehicles.

As we have said earlier, Mahindra Scorpio0-N will likely come with many safety features. Reports have suggested that it might be able to score a 5-star rating in G-NCAP tests.

Powertrain Options

Mahindra Scorpio-N is expected to come with the company’s new 2 litre mStallion turbo petrol engine and the 2.2 litre mHawk diesel motor. Transmission options will include a 6-speed MT and an AT set-up. It will also have along with 4×4 capabilities.Reports suggest that power-output figures for Scorpio will be closer to that of XUV700.

It will likely be sold alongside the current Scorpio which was recently updated in India. The existing Scorpio will continue as Scorpio Classic. The current gen Scorpio will be re-launched Scorpio Classic with minor facelift and same old engine option.

Rivals and Pricing

Mahindra Scorpio-N will not be having any direct rival in its segment as there are no other body-on-frame SUVs in the same price bracket. However, it will likely compete against Tata Harrier, Tata Safari, MG Hector twins, Jeep Compass and Hyundai Alcazar. The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N will likely come in the Rs 10-20 lakhs price category.
