Kia Sonet achieves 1.5 lakh units sales milestone in a time period of 21 months in India

Kia has achieved a new milestone in terms of sales in India. The Kia Sonet which is one of the top-selling sub 4m SUVs in India has crossed the sales of 1.5 lakh units in the country. Kia Sonet has achieved this feat in a time period of just 21 months. The sales figure of the Sonet proves that the SUV has been well received by the Indian customers.

Along with the sale of Kia Sonet, the sales figure of Kia Seltos is quite impressive for the month of May 2022. 7899 units of Kia Sonet were sold in May 2022. The Sonet had a 19 percent YoY growth as the 6627 units of the car were sold in May 2021. On the other hand, 5953 units of Kia Seltos were sold in May 2022. The Seltos had a 39 per cent YoY growth as the 4277 units of the car were sold in May 2021.

The Kia Sonnet is currently priced between Rs 7.15 lakh and Rs 13.69 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The Sonnet is offered in six trims which include HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+, and GTX+.

While the petrol variant is offered in three engine options. The engine options include 1-litre turbo petrol, 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. The 1-litre turbo petrol engine produces a maximum power of 120PS and peak torque of 172Nm. The 1.2-litre petrol engine produces 83PS maximum power along with 115Nm of peak torque. The 1.5-litre diesel engine on the other hand produces up to 115PS power and 250Nm of torque.

The safety features on the Kia Sonet include multiple airbags (up to 6 airbags), an Anti-lock braking system (ABS) with EBD and electronic stability control (ESC). The connectivity features on the SUV include features like Android Auto, Apple Car Play, sunroof, air purifier, wireless phone charging, UVO-connected car tech etc. The fuel efficiency of the car ranges from 18.2 kmpl and goes up to 24.1 kmpl.

The rivals of the Kia Sonet include Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Nissan Magnite etc.
