2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga launched in India at a starting price of Rs 8.35 lakh

The new 2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has been launched in India with a starting prices of Rs 8.35 lakh and the prices can go up to Rs 12.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The pre-bookings for the updated Ertiga MPV began earlier this month for a token amount of Rs 11,000. The MPV will go on sale along with the facelifted Maruti Suzuki XL6.

The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has received a new grille, a seven-inch SmartPlay Pro touchscreen infotainment system along with many other updates. The new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is powered by a 1.5-litre, DualJet, Dual VVT petrol engine. It will also be available in a CNG version.

The updated Maruti Ertiga is offered in four variants — LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+. The MPV is available in Pearl Metallic Auburn Red, Metallic Magma Grey, Pearl Metallic Oxford Blue, Pearl Arctic White, Dignity Brown (new), and Splendid Silver (new) colour options.

Features

In terms of updates, the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga features a new dynamic chrome winged front grille along with new two-tone machined alloy wheels and back door garnish with chrome insert. The company has also updated the dashboard with a new metallic Teak-Wooden finish and the cabin has git new dual-tone seat fabric. The second-row seats are equipped with a one-touch slide and recline mechanism for easy access to the last row. The third-row seats have a 50:50 split for added convenience.

The other features of the new Ertiga includes automatic climate control, engine start-stop button, height-adjustable driver seat, roof-mounted AC vents, air-cooled can holders, smartphone storage, auto headlamps, cruise control, retractable key-operated ORVMs and in-built Suzuki Connect telematics. Riders can access the updated Ertiga via a smartwatch and voice connectivity for Amazon Alexa.

The safety features of the vehicle includes dual front airbags, and ESP with hill hold assist , ABS with EBD and brake assist, rear parking sensors, second row ISOFIX child seat anchorages, speed alert system, seat belt reminder.

Engine

The 2022 Ertiga is powered by the next-gen 1.5-litre K15C Smart Hybrid petrol engine that can produce up to 102bhp at 6,000rpm and 136.8Nm of torque at 4,400rpm. This engine is available in five-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission options.

The new Ertiga is also available with a regular 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine and a CNG option. The regular petrol version churns out 99bhp at 6,000rpm and 136Nm of torque at 4,400rpm and the CNG option produces 87bhp at 5,500rpm and 121.5Nm of torque at 4,200rpm.

The manual version of the Ertiga is said to have a mileage of 20.51kmpl, while the automatic version returns 20.30kmpl. The CNG version returns 26.11 km/kg.

The Ertiga will face direct competition from the Kia Carens as both the vehicles are present in the same segment and offer similar features.
