2022 Kia Sonet updated, Now Price starts from Rs 7.15 Lakh

Kia has updated its 2022 Sonet and now its price starts from Rs 7.15 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 13.79 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The 2022 model gets new features, more safety, and also some colour revisions. Its prices have been increased by up to Rs 30,000 across all of its ranges. With the increase in price increase, Kia has added some additional features as well.

Across the range, the Sonet will have TPMS and four airbags as standard. The TPMS feature was earlier available only in the HTX+ and GTX+ variants.

Let’s take a look at updates across the trims.

2022 Kia Sonet Key Updates

Sonet’s base-spec trim, HTE, now gets Tyre Pressure Monitoring system and side airbags, both of which were absent until this update. The HTE variant also gets semi-leatherette seats with white stitching and rear seat folding knob. The HTK+ Turbo variants (turbo iMT variant) has received Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Control, Hill Assist Control and Brake Assist features, which were available only on the HTX and higher trims.

The HTX and HTX Anniversary Editions has been updated with a 4.2 inch semi digital instrument cluster, which were seen in the range-topping trims (HTX+ and GTX+).

The HTX+ trim now gets a total of 6 airbags, which was earlier limited to only the top-spec GTX+ variant. It also get the rebranded Kia Connect app (update of UVO connect app) and new SOS and Kia Connect buttons on the Internal Rear View Mirror (IRVM).

The other changes the Kia Sonet has received is the logo. Kia has changed the ‘Sonet’ logo in sync with the new ‘Kia’ logo.

Kia has also introduced two new colour options for the updated Sonet that is Imperial Blue and Sparkling Silver which have been borrowed from the recently launched Carens.

Kia has discontinued 3 of its old colour options, namely Intelligence Blue, Gold Beige and Steel Silver along with the Dual tone option of the Gold Beige.

Apart from the mentioned updates, the 2022 Kia Sonet has not got any major changes. The sub 4 metre SUV doesn’t get any mechanical change.

It continues to have one of the largest feature lists in its class including a 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment unit, connected car technology and remote operation, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, electric sunroof, LED headlamps, air purifier and much more.

Kia Sonet comes with multiple powertrain options including a 1.2 litre petrol engine, 1 litre turbo petrol motor and a 1.5 litre diesel engine. Transmission options include MT, DCT, AT and iMT, depending upon the choice of engine.
