2022 Kawasaki Ninja 400 gets launched in India, Gets a BS6 compliant engine

Kawasaki Motors has launched the updated version of the Ninja 400 in India. The new 2022 Kawasaki Ninja 400 gets a BS6-compliant engine and is mostly the same as that of its predecessor. The fit and finish of the new Kawasaki Ninja remains the same as that of the BS4 model. The 2022 Kawasaki Ninja 400 has a starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh, ex-showroom India.

The 2022 model of Kawasaki Ninja 400 (Euro-5) was launched recently in the European market and now has arrived in India.  For those who are unaware, the BS4 model of the Kawasaki Ninja 400 was discontinued in the Indian market after December 2019. This means that the BS6 Ninja 400 makes an entry into the Indian market after a period of 2.5 years.

Engine

The 2022 Kawasaki Ninja 400 derives its power from the updated 399cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that is a complaint to BS6 norms. The 399cc engine is coupled with 6-speed gearbox that produces a peak power of 44bhp at 10,000 rpm and maximum torque of 37Nm at 8000 rpm. The power of the engine remains the same. However, the torque of the engine reduces by 1Nm (against the BS4 model).

Design

2022 Kawasaki Ninja 400 inherits its design from Ninja H2 along with twin-pod headlight. The side indicators are integrated in the fairing of the motorcycle. The fuel tank is 14 litres in capacity and has a muscular design. The seat style is split while the exhaust has a dual-tone finish on it.

Brakes and Suspension

The motorcycle gets a dual-disc setup along with dual-channel ABS. The front disc of the motorcycle is 300 mm while the rear disc is 220 mm. In terms of suspension, the Ninja 400 gets 41mm telescopic forks while the rear suspension is a mono-shock unit.

Colours

The motorcycle will be offered in two paint schemes- Lime Green with Ebony (KRT Edition) and Carbon Gray with Metallic Carbon Gray.

Competitors

The nearest rival of the 2022 Ninja 400 is the 2022 KTM RC 390 in India. The KTM RC 390 offers 43.5PS power and 37Nm of torque and costs Rs 3.14 lakh (ex-showroom India).
