Airtel Offers Price Cut On HD & Internet TV Set Top Boxes

New Delhi: After Tata Sky, Airtel has slashed prices on its set-top boxes across the country. The basic HD set-top box, which generally used to cost Rs 1,953, is now available for Rs 1,453, thereby getting an overall price reduction of Rs 500. Besides, Airtel is also bundling benefits worth Rs 1,000 to the subscribers.

Subscribers will get also get a standard 150 channel bundle. Without the offer, subscribers would have to pay Rs 452 per month. However, the revised price does not include the extra charges such as the Network Capacity Fee, installation and activation charges.

The HD set-top box comes with features such as the ability to record TV shows, play, pause and rewind them in real-time as well.

For existing Airtel Digital TV subscribers who want to upgrade to the HD box, they will have to pay a sum of Rs 699 for the set-top box along with the Rs 150 service charge. If the subscriber wants to upgrade to the Internet TV box, the subscriber will have to pay Rs 1,999 along with Rs 250 as service charge.

The Internet TV box is essentially a smart set-top box running on Android TV OS. Hence, it provides all the features that you can get on an Android smart TV. Subscribers can stream online content from YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and all other OTT platforms. The box also streams in 4K resolution.

Without the offer, the subscriber will have to pay Rs 3,499 that will club all HD and SD channels free for one month along with a yearly subscription if Airtel TV subscription as well as 1-month Netflix free trial.
