67 more Omicron cases detected in Odisha, Tally rises to 170

Bhubaneswar: As many as 67 more Omicron cases have been detected in Odisha. This was informed by the Institute of Life Science (ILS) in Bhubaneswar to the Health and Family Welfare Department of the State government on Wednesday.

According to ILS-Bhubaneswar, the genome sequencing of the positive cases of coronavirus infection of 67 persons turned out to be the new Omicron vibrant.

With the detection of 67 new Omicron cases, the tally of the new vibrant of COVID-19 in Odisha has risen to 170.

On the other hand, the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department today informed that a total of 8,778 Covid positive cases including 2615  from Khurda were detected in the last 24 hours. Out of the 8,778 positive cases, 792 belong to the 0-18 year’s age group. Today’s tally includes 5,096 quarantine cases and 3,682 local contacts.
