Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X price increased in India

Triumph has hiked the prices of its Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X in India. This will be the first time the Triumph 400 twins will be getting a price hike in the country after their introductory pricing came to an end earlier this year. According to the price listed on the official website, both the motorcycles have become expensive a by Rs 1,500. With the addition of the extra Rs 1,500 to their introductory price, the bikes now cost Rs 2,34,497 and Rs 2,64,496, respectively(ex-showroom).

The Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 was launched in India last year. At the time of launch, the Speed 400 had an introductory price of Rs 2.23 lakh, (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the Triumph Scrambler 400X, which was introduced later the same year, had an launch price of Rs 2.62 lakh, (ex-showroom).

The bikes were priced cheaper than their competitor given their features and what they offer. Later, post the first 10,000 bookings, the company ended the introductory pricing for the Speed 400, and hiked the price of the bikes to Rs 2.33 lakh (ex-showroom).

Even after the price hike, the two motorcycles still remain extremely affordable in the segment.

Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X — Specs and competition

The two Triumph 400cc motorcycles are powered by the same 398cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that develops 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

This is in the same ballpark as its closest competitors, such as the KTM 390 Duke, Bajaj Dominar, KTM 390 Adventure, and the new Royal Enfield Himalayan amongst others.
