Tata Punch achieves 4 lakh sales milestone, know the journey of this compact SUV
Since its launch in India, the Tata Punch has been one of the high-selling cars offered by the company. In India, it rivals the likes of Hyundai Exter and Citroen C3. However, keeping the sales figure of the cars, the Punch leads the competition.
The Tata Punch launched way back in October 2021 and the average monthly sales of the SUV are around 16,000 units. The SUV has become the first choice for those who want a Tata SUV but smaller than Nexon. The company has revealed that the Punch hit a one lakh sales milestone in the first 10 months and a two lakh sales mark in May 2023. On the other hand, the compact SUV achieved three lakh sales in December. The SUV hit a four lakh sales milestone in July.
Tata Punch gets a 1.2-litre petrol engine that is paired with a 5-speed manual or an AMT. The Punch Adventure is the most popular variant offered by the company in India. The Punch is available in Petrol, CNG as well as electric.
Speaking about the EV version of Punch, the SUV offers an 82hp or 114hp motor. Speaking about battery options, the SUV gets two battery options and five variants. Some models of the car get 7.2kW AC fast charging for the premium variant. The Punch EV Empowered+ LR is the one that has garnered maximum sales, told dealers of the company.
Tata will launch the Curvv EV on August 7. Tata Curvv EV, which will be launched on August 7, 2024. The EV is expected to be priced starting at Rs 20 lakh. The upcoming electric SUV-coupe will be based on Tata’s Acti.ev platform and will have a large battery pack that is claimed to provide a range of up to 500 km.
The Curvv EV will be equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, and for safety, it will have a panoramic sunroof, 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) features.
