Tata launches Nexon EV Max at a starting price of Rs 17.74 lakh

Tata Motors has finally launched the Nexon EV Max SUV with prices starting from Rs 17.74 lakh and goes up to Rs 19.24 lakh. The Nexon EV Max is claimed to offer an ARAI-certified range of 437km. It comes with a large 40.5kWh battery pack. The new SUV has also got new additional features compared to the standard Nexon EV. The deliveries for the Nexon EV Max will begin in the coming weeks.

The Nexon EV Max has been introduced in two variants – the basic XZ+ and the top-end variant XZ+ Lux.

Tata Nexon EV Max price

Tata Motors has launched the Nexon EV Max in two variants with four sub-variants. The Tata Nexon EV Max costs Rs 2.95 lakh more than the standard Nexon EV. The basic Nexon EV Max XZ+ variant with the 3.3kW charger is priced at Rs 17.74 lakh while the XZ+ with the 7.2kW AC fast charger costs Rs 18.24 lakh.

The top-spec Tata Nexon EV Max XZ+ Lux model, on the other hand, prices starts at Rs 18.74 lakh for the 3.3kW option. The XZ+ Lux with a 7.2kW AC fast charger is the most expensive variant of the line-up and costs Rs 19.24 lakh.

Tata Nexon EV Max features 

As we have said earlier, the Nexon EV Max gets several new features over the standard Nexon EV including an illuminated gear knob with a park mode, electronic parking brake, air purifier, cooled seats, and safety features like ESP and hill-hold assist. Apart from this, it also gets smartwatch integration and cruise control. The company is offering a beige interior theme with the all the variants of the EV except for the standard model. The Nexon EV Max sports a dual-tone colour on the exterior and comes in an exclusive Intensi-teal paint shade option.

Tata Nexon EV Max is powered by the upgraded ZConnect 2.0 connected car technology and has Multi-Mode Regen with four regen levels for braking, with the highest regen level aiding in single-pedal driving.

Moreover, The Nexon EV Max gets 8 years/1,60,000km warranty for battery and motor.

Tata Nexon EV Max battery and range

The Nexon EV Max packs a bigger 40.5kWh battery pack. This battery is around 10kWh more large than the standard Nexon EV. The Nexon EV Max has a boot capacity of 350-litre boot, which is the same as the regular Nexon EV. The electric car comes with a 143hp motor that delivers 250Nm of torque.

The Nexon EV Max have an ARAI claimed range of 437km, which is 125km more than the Nexon EV and a real-world range of around 300km.

The Nexon EV Max weighs 70kg heavier than the standard Nexon EV. Tata Motors has tuned the spring and dampers to take care of the additional weight, along with modifying the floor structure to accommodate the larger battery.

According to the carmaker, the new EV can attain a 0-100kph time of under 9sec for the electric SUV.

Tata Motors Nexon EV Max takes around 15-16 hours to fully charge with the 3.3kW AC charger, while the 7.2kW AC version makes the battery fully charged in five to six hours. Tata Motors claims a charging time of 56 minutes from 0-80 percent via a conventional 50kW DC fast charger. The 7.2kW AC charger can also be used to charge the regular Nexon EV, but it will only go to 3.3kW, since that is the maximum intake capacity of the standard model.

Tata Nexon EV Max rivals 

Though the Nexon EV Max does not have any direct rivals, it will likely compete with the MG ZS EV, whose price starts from Rs 21.99 lakh and gets a more powerful 176hp motor and a 50.3kWh battery. The Nexon EV Max will be sold alongside the Nexon EV, which will provide users with more choices to choose from.
