Tata Altroz Dual-clutch Transmission launched In India, Prices starts at Rs 8.10 Lakh

Tata Motors has launched the Tata Altroz with the dual-clutch transmission (DCT) in India. The new DCT variant is being called as the Tata Altroz DCA and has a starting price of Rs 8.10 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

The Tata Altroz DCA will be available in the four variants such as XM+, XT, XZ, and XZ+. The new Tata Altroz DCA variant will also be coming in a new Opera Blue colour scheme, along with the already exsting Downtown Red, Arcade Grey, Avenue White, Harbour Blue, as well as the Dark editions.

Tata Altroz DCA engine, features

The Tata Altroz DCA has got a new 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox that is available only with the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine. It produces 86 bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque. The DCA variant is heavier by almost 20 kg over the manual transmission model. The other option happens to be a turbocharged version of the same motor which can churn out 110 hp and 140 Nm of max torque. For diesel lovers, Tata offers a 1.5 litre 4 cylinder diesel motor which can produce 90 hp and 200 Nm of peak torque.

According to the company the DCA has been designed keeping in mind the Indian roads and climatic conditions, with active cooling technology and machine learning as well as shift-by-wire technology.

On the outside, there is a DCA badge, which represents Dual Clutch Automatic. On the inside, there are new touches in the form of fabric arm support on doors, larger 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system which is compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and IRA-connected car features, a 7.0-inch part-digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, a Harman powered sound system, and much more.

Apart from this, the Altroz DCA will also get a new safety feature that is ‘Auto Park Lock’. With this, the car automatically engages the park mode after the passenger exits, even if the driver forgets to do so. Other standard features include keyless entry with push-button start-stop, automatic climate control, iRA rain-sensing wipers, and leatherette upholstery.

The new Altroz will competite against the likes of 2022 Baleno, Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz, 2022 Glanza and VW Polo (which is about to get discontinued, soon).
