Skoda hikes the prices of Skoda Slavia, New prices start from Rs 10.99 lakh

Czech car manufacturer Skoda has hiked the prices of its midsize sedan ‘Skoda Slavia’ in India. The Skoda Slavia gets a price hike of up to Rs 60,000 depending on the variants. The Skoda Slavia which was launched in February 2022 received its first hike. After the price hike, the midrange sedan starts from Rs 10.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 18.39 lakh. For those who are unknown, the price of Skoda Slavia used to start from Rs 10.69 lakh and went up to Rs 17.79 lakh.

The price hike of the car varies across trims. While the Active/ Ambition 1.0 variant gets Rs 30,000 price hike, the Style 1.0 TSI variant gets a hike of Rs 40,000. On the other hand, the top trim-Style 1.5 TSI variant gets a hike of Rs 60,000.

With the latest price hike of Skoda Slavia, the car becomes second most expensive in its segment. The Most expensive in the segment is the Honda City Hybrid and costs Rs 19.49 lakh. Car models like Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and Honda City cost less than the Slavia.

Engine and safety

The Under the hood, the Skoda Slavia 1.5 TSI variant gets 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine will produce a maximum power of 148hp and a torque of 250Nm. In terms of the gearbox, the 1.5-litre engine gets six-speed manual and seven-speed DSG automatic options. The 1.0-litre TSI petrol is a smaller engine and produces a power of 115hp of power along with a torque of 175Nm. The 1.0-litre engine is available with a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic gearbox options.

The safety features on the Skoda Slavia includes multiple airbags (6), ISOFIX, Hill Hold Control, ABS with EBD, XDS, rear view camera and TPMS.

Recent changes

Skoda has changed the infotainment screen on the Slavia. Earlier, the sedan used to offer a 10-inch infotainment screen but currently an 8.0-inch screen is on offer. The change in equipment was due to the recent chip shortage in India.
