Renault Arkana spotted testing in India for the first time; To rival Tata Harrier

Renault Arkana has recently been spotted for the first time in India. The Renault Arkana was seen during a road test in the country. Renault India had teased Arkana on its social media handles in November last year. The sighting of the Arkana has made speculations rise that the SUV will be launched in the Indian market soon.

Renault Arkana comes in two version in the international market– one version is based on the ‘B0’ platform and other is built on the ‘CMF-B’ platform. The former version, which has a length of 1,545mm is sold in the Russian market, while the latter with 1,570mm length is available in Europe and South Korea.

There is no nformation on which of these two version or a new one will be coming to India.

Renault Arkana Design, features (expected)

The Renault Arkana is expected to feature the sloping coupe-style roofline, sharp-looking headlamps, and shapely taillights. The SUV is likely to come with a lot of premium features as well.

The company offers the SUV in the International market in two engine options such as a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.6-litre NA petrol. The Arkana is also available in Mild hybrid and hybrid options. The company is said to offer a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine, which was seen in the now-discontinued Renault Duster and Nissan Kicks, with the Arkana SUV in the Indian market.

Renault recently stopped the production of popular Duster in the Indian market this month, and the Captur was discontinued back in 2020.  The company currently has only the Kiger SUV in its lineup in the Indian market.

The Arkana would arrive as a new flagship in the brand’s range and will be positioned above the now-discontinued Duster. However, the manufacturer might have brought the Arkana test model in India for component testing for some other model that is being developed for our market.

Considering its dimension, the Renault Arkana will be a close rival to Tata Harrier and MG Hector after its launch in India. The SUV’s price may not be in the same category as its rivals. Renault Arkana is expected to be priced from Rs. 12 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
