Next-generation Mahindra Scorpio-N pickup spotted while testing, spy images out
The camouflaged test mule of the new Mahindra Scorpio N pickup was spotted in a camouflaged avatar in India.
Mahindra Scorpio-N pickup has been spotted in India for the first time while testing. The camouflaged test mule of the Mahindra Scorpio N pickup was spotted in a camouflaged avatar. The vehicle has already been showcased in South Africa and it was dubbed as the Global Pik Up concept. The primary market of the Scorpio-N pickup is South Africa alongside Australia.
The camouflaged Scorpio-N test mule gets a basic double-cab layout with a load bed. The front end of the pickup truck appears quite unchanged when it is compared to the regular Scorpio N. However, it does not have aggressive bumpers, flared wheel arches as well as extended side steps like the concept. The pickup will have repositioned rear wheels as well as different rear doors.
It is important to mention that the cargo bed has a centrally located handle while the taillights are vertically stacked. The roll bar on the pick-up is quite large, but it can be rescaled in the production version. However, when it comes to alloy wheels they are the same as offered in the Scorpio N.
Powertrain
The Mahindra Scorpio-N pickup will be powered by an updated version of Mahindra’s 2.2-litre diesel engine that is coupled with 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox sourced by Aisin. The four wheel drive transmission will be offered as standard while the four drive modes are Normal, Grass-Gravel-Snow, Mud-Rut and Sand.
It is expected that the Mahindra Scorpio-N pickup will be available in the diesel engine as well as petrol engine. In markets like India, South Africa as well as Australia we might get a diesel engine. On the other hand, the ASEAN region will get petrol pickup (as it has high demand for it).
When it comes to launch of the vehicle, we expect that it be launched in India after it is launched in South Africa market. In South Africa, the pick-up is going to be launched in 2025.
