Maruti Suzuki has launched the next-generation Dzire, which was revealed last week, in India. The updated sub-four-metre sedan has debuted at a starting price of Rs. 6.79 lakh (Ex-showroom). Earlier, the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire received 5-star rating at the Global NCAP crash test. This is the first ever model among the company lineup to receive 5-star safety rating.
Exterior Design
The Dzire new model doesn’t share its looks with the Swift at all. It has received many changes in exterior design such as the front flat hood now features small creases at the corners and the LED headlamp units with blacked-out surrounds alo adds a fresh outlook. The grille has been revised with bigger horizontal slats and the top of it is adorned in a piano black and chrome finish. More creases were seen at the door and fenders as well. At the rear, it features triangular inserts for the LED taillights that has a rectangular design, and a shark-fin antenna.
Interior Design, features
Though it does not resemble the swift fron the exterior, it packs all elements of the sedan on the inside. It features dual colour theme in the interior. The dashboard sports a dark brown colour, faux wood and silver trims while the upholstery is finished in beige. It comes with the same 9-inch Smartplay Pro Plus unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity along with connected car features. It also comes with a segment-first electric sunroof, nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, , flat-bottom steering wheel. The other features of the car include 360-degree camera, cruise control, rear AC vents, and automatic climate control.
Powertrain options
The fourth-gen Dzire is offered with a new 1.2-litre Z-Series petrol engine paired with five-speed manual and AMT units. The engine churns out 80bhp and 112Nm. It also comes in a CNG version that produces 68bhp and 102Nm. It comes in four trims for petrol variant– LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+. The CNG is only available on the mid-spec VXi and ZXi trims.
New Dzire price in India, Dimension, Rivals
The new Dzire is 3,995mm long, 1,735mm wide and 1,525mm high, with a 2,450mm wheelbase and a 163mm ground clearance. Dimensionally, it is nearly identical to the outgoing Dzire except for in height where its 10mm taller.
The new Dzire rivals Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor and and the Honda Amaze in India. The new Dzire can also be had via Maruti’s subscription service with a monthly EMI of Rs 18,248.
