Maruti Suzuki is all set to introduce the newer generation of Maruti Suzuki Alto in India. The updated Alto is expected to launch in India this year and the car has been spotted while testing. As far as it appears from the testing model of the car, the entry level hatch back (Alto) is expected to have some major upgrades in terms of design.

The Spy images of the upcoming car have been revealed on the internet and we are quite anxious about the launch of the car. From the spy shots it is quite evident that the new Alto will be taller than its predecessor. The ground clearance of the hatch back will also be more than the outgoing model. In terms of design we expect that the hatchback to look a bit different than its current iteration.

Since its launch, Maruti Alto has been one of the favourite entry level hatchback for middle class Indians. The current generation of Maruti Alto 800 is powered by a 0.8-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine. The manual transmission has a 5-speed gearbox which churns out a maximum power of 48PS and 69Nm of torque. On the other hand, the CNG version of the hatchback has a maximum power of 41PS and torque of 60Nm.

In terms of features, the hatchback gets 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The other important features of the Alto 800 include keyless entry, power windows, rear parking sensors, airbag and ABS with EBD. When it comes to price, the Maruti Alto hatchback currently costs between Rs 3.25 lakh and Rs 4.95 lakh in India.

We are expecting that the cabin features as well as safety features will get upgraded once the car launches in India. We also expect a hike in pricing of the car as it will be introduced in India in future.

Maruti Suzuki has launched new Baleno as well as WagonR in India in 2022. The car manufacturer had introduced the new Celerio in the country in December 2021.
