Morris Garages India in collaboration with JSW Group has introduced its new CUV called the MG Windsor. The new MG CUV is scheduled to launch in September this year. The carmaker will pull the covers off its India-spec version, called the Windsor EV.
The MG Windsor is already available outside of India as Wuling Cloud EV in two battery options- a 50.6kWh unit and a 37.9kWh unit, which are claimed to offer a range of 460km, and a 360km on a single charge, respectively.
Prior to the announcement, the EV was spotted testing on multiple occasions across the country.
On the design front, the 2024 Windsor EV is expected to feature LED light bars at the front and rear with split headlamp design. It will run on chunky alloy wheels. The other feature highlights include front door-mounted ORVMs, integrated spoiler, squared LED taillights, and flush-fitting door handles.
For the interior, the cabin should likely be packed with a new dashboard that has a dual screen setup and automatic climate control, connected car technology, and powered seats. For safety, it will have ADAS suite, 360-degree camera. A few features such as the panoramic sunroof and two-spoke steering wheel have already been confirmed.
Upon launch, it will rival the likes of the BYD e6 MPV.
Menwhile, billionaire industrialist Sajjan Jindal, Chairman and Managing Director of JSW Group, has announced that every Indian athlete who wins a medal at the ongoing Paris Olympics will receive an MG Windsor car.
Sharing the announcement on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote that, “he was delighted to announce that “our best deserve the best, for their dedication and success.”
