Automaker Maruti Suzuki has launched its compact SUV- Fronx in India today. The prices of the car start at Rs 7.46 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes as high as Rs 13.33 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Interested buyers can purchase the SUV by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000. The Fronx can be booked online or through company’s Nexa dealerships across the country.
Engine
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is be offered in two engines- 1.2 litre K-Series DualJet, Dual VVT engine and a 1.0-litre K-Series turbo Boosterjet petrol engine. The 1.2 litre engine produces power of 89bhp and torque of 113Nm. On the other hand, the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine churns out 99bhp of power and 147.6Nm of torque. While the 1.2 litre engine is offered in 5 speed manual or 5 speed AMT transmission, the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine is offered in 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.
Design
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx borrows some style from the Grand Vitara. The front grille is quite large while the headlights are split LED in shape. The SUV gets a sloping roofline along with cladding around the arches. The wheels of the car are 16-inches and dual-tone in colour. When it comes to colour, the SUV is offered in 10 colours including monotone as well as dual-tone paint scheme.
Variants
The car will be available in five variants- Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta, and Alpha. The 1.2 L engine is offered in Sigma, Delta and Delta+ trims. On the other hand, the The 1.0 turbo engine will be offered on the Delta+, Zeta and Alpha trims. Users get automatic transmission in only Zeta and Alpha trims for the 1.0 L variant. On the other hand, the 1.2 NA engine is offered in AMT gearbox in Delta and Delta+. The Manual Variant is however offered in all trims.
