Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and S-Presso receives price cut in India

The Maruti Suzuki Alto and S-Presso has become cheaper in India. On September 2, the company informed the exchange that it has reduced the price of select variants of Alto K10 and S-Presso models.  The revised prices will be in effect from today.

“Maruti Suzuki has announced a reduction in prices of select variants of Alto K10 and S-Presso with effect from today i.e. September 2, 2024,” said the the company in its statement.

According to Maruti Suzuki India, the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso LXI petrol variant has become cheaper by Rs 2,000. Meanwhile,  the price of the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 VXI petrol variant has dropped by Rs 6,500.

This price cut came in wake of a decline in the company’s sales figure.

Maruti Suzuki sustained 3.9% decline in sales in August with 181,782 units sold in India. In comparison, the company sold around 189,082 units in August 2023.

Out of the 181,782 units sold, 145,570 units were purchased domestically and 26,003 units were exported in August.

The automaker’s August sales fir the small car segment declined 18.85 per cent to 68,699 units, compared year-on-year (YoY) with 84,660 units the previous year, as per the sales data in the filing.

The company’s domestic sales also fell 8.4 per cent to 143,075 units. In comparison, it sold 156,114 units in the same month in 2023.

Meanwhile, the company’s export units has seen a growth in Sugust. The company registered a 5.64 per cent growth in exports with 26,003 units in August 2024, compared to 24,614 units in the same period the previous year, as per the company.
