Mahindra XUV300 might get launched in a new avatar soon in India

Mahindra is expected to launch a new SUV in the Indian market and it might be the new version of the XUV300. The new version of Mahindra XUV300 will either replace the currently available XUV300 or will be an additional variant (Sportz) of the current generation SUV. The new XUV300 variant generates more power than the current generation SUV and will be equipped with a more powerful petrol engine.

The new Mahindra XUV300 variant was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 and was expected to launch in the same year. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the launch was put on hold and the company plans to introduce it in near future (possibly 2022).

Engine

The Mahindra XUV300 new variant will be powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine that will be coupled with a 6-speed manual gearbox. There is no option for any automatic variant. The 1.2-litre engine generates 131hp of peak power and a maximum torque of 230Nm. For those who are unknown, the standard variant of Mahindra XUV300 produces 110PS of the peak power and 200 Nm of maximum torque.

If the new version of the Mahindra XUV300 is a sportz variant, we will see a lot of exterior changes on the car. The new design of the XUV300 will make it stand out from the regular models. The sportz variant of XUV300 is expected to offer body decals and front brake callipers in red colour. The SUV might also get Sportz badge on the exterior and a black-out theme with red inserts on the dashboard.

Upon its launch, the new Mahindra XUV300 will compete with the likes of Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon etc.

In terms of pricing, the new Mahindra XUV300 is expected to receive a hike in price. Currently, the Mahindra XUV300 starts at Rs 8.41 lakh and goes up to Rs 14.07 lakh. We are eagerly waiting for the company (Mahindra) to make the official announcement for the upcoming launch.
