Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., India’s leading SUV manufacturer, has unveiled the much-awaited Thar Roxx 5-door SUV at a event in Kochi. The Thar Roxx has a starting price of Rs 12.99 Lakh. The Thar ROXX promises to redefine the SUV experience, offering an unmatched combination of luxury, performance, and cutting-edge technology.
It succeeds the Thar 3-door SUV, that was launched four years ago on August 15, 2020.
The Thar Roxx has a significantly longer list of features compared to the Thar 3-door. Prices for the mid and top-spec variants will be revealed tomorrow.It offers exemplary on-road performance while staying true to its legendary off-road prowess. The Thar ROXX prioritises safety and security with over 35 standard safety features.
Price and color Details
The base petrol model is priced at Rs 12.99 lakh and the base diesel model is priced at Rs 13.99 lakh. It comes in Stealth Black, Tango Red, Everest White, Deep Forest, Nebula Blue, Battleship Grey, and Burnt Sienna.
Mahindra Thar Roxx Design
The Thar Roxx features triangular rear quarter glass to accommodate a thicker B-pillar. The Thar Roxx features a slanted roof. The design for the alloy wheel is fresh, as opposed to the three-door model. It also gets squarish wheel arches instead of circular rear wheel arches.
Features
The 5-door iteration of the Thar comes equipped with a more advanced suspension setup than the outgoing 3-door model. It will utilise Scorpio-N-derived FSD shock absorbers with a penta-link suspension setup on the rear.
It features circular LED projector headlamps, LED taillights, C-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs) around the headlights along with fog lamps on the bumper, and 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, rectangular LED tail lamp clusters, and tailgate-mounted spare wheel.
Inside the cabin, it is equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, engine start-stop button, rear AC vents, USB Type-C charging ports, 60:40 split rear seats, height-adjustable driver seat, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and fabric upholstery.
For safety, it will feature an electronic brake-locking differential on the front and a mechanically locking rear differential. The list will include an offroad crawl control and an intelli-turn assist feature, six airbags, and ESC.
Mahindra Thar Roxx Engine Options
The Thar Roxx is offered in two engine choices – 2.0L turbo-petrol one that churns out 160bhp and 330Nm of torque and a 2.2L turbo-diesel oil burner that produces150bhp and 330Nm of torque. It is offered in two transmission choices – 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT.
The Mahindra Thar Roxx does not have any direct rival in the Indian market. But, it might rival against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
