Jeep Meridian to launch tomorrow in India, Know important details about the new SUV

Jeep India is all set to launch the new 7 seater SUV-Jeep Meridian in India tomorrow (19 May). With the introduction of the Jeep Meridian the company aims to target the 7 seater SUV segment as well take the legacy of the legendary Jeep forward. The bookings of the SUV had already started from May 3, 2022 at a token amount of Rs 50,000. For those who are unaware of the latest Jeep launches, the Meridian will be the second vehicle to launch in India after Compass Trailhawk.

The Jeep Meridian will provide best-in-class comfort and first-in-segment features in the 7-seater segment. Jeep ensures that the SUV will be highly secure for your family as it has an advanced high-strength steel chassis and 60+ safety and security features. When it comes to the ride quality, the Jeep Meridian will have 25 percent reduced floor vibrations and improved stability along with best-in-class frequency selective damping.

Safety features

The Jeep Meridian offers 6 airbags as a standard safety feature across all its variants. This means that your family will be safe and secure in every driving condition. The 360-degree surround-view camera assists you during your toughest adventures and also offers blind-spot monitoring. This means that you will easily handle tricky spots during day-to-day parking.

Cabin features

The SUV also offers many features that will provide easy access to users. The one-touch tumble second row makes accessibility to the third row an easy task. Similarly, the AC vents are available in every row for user comfort. The best-in-class cooling facility makes the SUV 30 percent cooler than the regular time.

The 9 built-in speakers in the SUV offer a great music experience for the users. The SUV also offers great space for all the travel necessities.  While the center console is clean, the interior looks classy and spacious.

Engine

When it comes to the engine, the Jeep Meridian will be powered by a 2.0 litre diesel motor that is already present in the Jeep Compass. We expect that the engine will produce a power of 170hp and a torque of 350Nm. However, there are possibilities that the power and torque figures of the SUV will be enhanced by the company. The SUV will offer 9 speed AT along with FWD or AWD.

Price

We expect that the price of the new Jeep Meridian will be between Rs 25 lakh and Rs 33 lakh in India.

Colours

Buyers will get five different colours variants of Jeep Meridian SUV in India. The colours are Pearl White, Velvet Red, Techno Green, Grigio Magnesio, and Brilliant Black.

Rivals

Given its offerings to the users, the Jeep Meridian is expected to be costlier than the Jeep Compass. In India, the Jeep Meridian will rival the likes of Skoda Kodiaq, MG Glister, and Toyota Fortuner.
