In an effort to attract new customers, Hero MotoCorp has slashed the price of its Vida V1 electric scooter by around Rs 25,000. With the price cut, the prices of VIDA V1 Plus and VIDA V1 Pro scooters have dropped down to Rs 1.20 lakh, and Rs 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom price including FAME II subsidy) respectively.
Note that the new prices of the two scooter trims will vary across the country based on respective state subsidies, said the automaker.
The company recently announced to scale up the presence of its electric scooter range under the VIDA brand to 100 Indian cities this year.
Hero MotoCorp introduced the VIDA V1 scooter in October 2022. The deliveries of the electric scooters started in December of the same year.
The Vida V1 electric scooter is claimed to provide a range of 165 km, while the V1 Plus can cover 143 km on a single charge. It is also easy to charge and comes with swappable batteries. Both variants can be charged at a rate of 1.2 km per minute.
The V1 Pro can accelerate from 0-40 km/h in 3.2 seconds, while the V1 Plus can reach from 0-40 km/h in 3.4 seconds, respectively, claimed Hero. Both variants have a top speed of 80 km/h.
The Vida V1 features a dual-tone tone bodywork with an LED headlamp up front and a 7-inch touchscreen. It also gets features like keyless control, cruise control, SOS alert, a two-way throttle and three riding modes: Eco, Ride and Sports.
At present, the Vida V1 e-scooter is available in Delhi, Jaipur and Bangalore. It has nearly 300 charging points at 50 locations in the cities. The company is rolling out its product in Pune, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Nasik, Hyderabad, Chennai, Calicut and Kochi. It plans to expand to 100 cities this year.
