Citroen C3X crossover is expected to be launched very soon in India and it will be based on the C3 which is already available in our country. The C3X is expected to launch at anytime in 2024, said media reports. The C3X crossover sedan will be the third product to be built on CMP modular platform which is India-specific. The other cars to be built on the platform are C3 hatchback and C3 Aircross.
According to sources, it is believed that the company will offer an innovative design in the C3X. It will neither have a design like the C3 or the C3 Aircross. However, it will have a unique sedan like structure but will have a high ground clearance. The C3X will be quite similar to the C4X and the C5X in terms of design and is sold in Europe. This means that the C3X will be quite unique in terms of its shape.
In terms of design, the Citroen C3X will offer a tapered roofline and the back profile of the car offers a couple like shape. When it comes to length of the car, we expect it to be around 4.3-4.4 meters in length and the wheelbase will be similar to that of the C3 Aircross SUV. Some of the common features that are expected on the crossover sedan will include fully digital instrument cluster, dashboard, steering wheel, the 10-inch infotainment system, seating and HVAC controls.
Citroen C3X is expected to get a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine. While the maximum power offered by the engine will be 110hp the torque will be 190Nm. The engine is coupled with six-speed manual transmission. On the other hand, the electric version of the C3X will not be far behind. The company is expected to launch the electric C3X within 6-8 months after the launch of C3X sedan.
We can expect the C3X to arrive around July 2024, while the electric version might be available around February 2025.
