Bookings for 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno cross 50,000 mark in India

The Maruti Baleno is one of the premium hatchbacks currently offered in India under Rs 10 lakh. The 2022 edition of the Maruti Baleno has been launched on February 23, 2022 and it seems that it is a hit among buyers. After just a month of launch, the bookings for this hatchback have hit 50,000 mark. The waiting period for the hatchback usually ranges between 0.5 to 1.5 months.

2022 Maruti Baleno is offered in four trims- Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha and is offered with lots of upgrades in terms of looks, interior as well as engine.

Engine

Speaking about the engine of the hatchback, it is powered by a new 1.2-litre, four-cylinder Dualjet K12N petrol engine. The engine can be availed in a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT automatic gearbox. The mileage that the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno offers is 22.35kmpl for manual gearbox while the AMT versions return 22.94kmpl.

Exterior

The new Maruti Suzuki Baleno gets a new grille with a touch of silver at its base. The new hatchback gets a flatter clamshell bonnet, new fog light housings and redesigned bumper. The wheels of the Baleno are 16-inch alloy wheels. On the other hand, the rear of the hatchback gets C-shaped LED lights that extend onto the tailgate.

Interior

The new Maruti Suzuki Baleno gets a refreshed three-layered design on the dashboard while the top-spec model gets a black-silver treatment. The interior design of the Baleno is quite similar to that of the new version of S-Cross that is currently sold abroad. The additional features of the hatchback include a new steering wheel, climate control and news instrument cluster.

Price

The sigma model of the hatchback is the base variant and costs Rs 6.35 lakh while the top model Alpha AMT Rs 9.49 lakh. The Delta and Delta AMT cost Rs 7.19 lakh and Rs 7.69 lakh. The Zeta variant costs Rs 8.09 lakh while Zeta AMT costs Rs 8.59 lakh. On the other hand, the Alpha costs Rs 8.99 lakh.

Connectivity features

The connectivity features on the hatchback include a 9.0-inch Smartplay pro+ touchscreen with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa. Other features include 360-degree cameras, auto IRVM keyless entry and go, automatic climate control, telescopic steering adjustment, etc.

The competitors of the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno are Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20, Toyota Glanza, Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo.
