Ather 450 Apex with 157km range debuts in India at Rs 1.89 lakh

The Ather 450 Apex electric scooter is the most expensive model in the brand’s lineup with a price of Rs 1,89,000(ex-showroom, Bengaluru).

The home-grown electric two-wheeler manufacturing company, Ather Energy, has introduced its most premium offering the 450 Apex in India. The Ather 450 Apex’s asking price is not inclusive of the subsidy.

The highlight of the 450 Apex electric scooter is its transparent side body panels. The orange-colored frame on the inside can be seen through the transparent body panels. Moreover, the belt drive on the left side has also been covered, giving it a new refreshed look.

The 450 Apex will be offered with a 7kW motor linked to a 3.7kWh battery that is claimed to produce a top speed of 100kmph and a certified range of 157km. Ather offers the scooter with a five-year or 60,000km battery warranty.

Though the design of the scooter is similar to the standard Ather 450X, the transparent body panels and belt covers make it stand out more.

Ather has unveiled the Warp+ mode with the 450 Apex electric scooter, which is claimed to give a zero lag throttle-to-wheel response.

Including the Warp+, the electric scooter gets five other ride modes– Smart Eco, Eco, Ride, Sport, and Warp. The 450 Apex is claimed to fastest of its segment as it can reach 0 to 40km/h in just 0.29 seconds.  This makes it 10kmph faster than the standard model.

Ather has integrated a new Magic Twist feature on the 450 Apex that will enable riders to control the scooter more effectively by making it stop even at a 100 percent charge. You can call the Magic Twist as a more advanced version of the regenerative braking feature.

Ather offers an array of features with the scooter like full LED illumination, a seven-inch touchscreen TFT with smartphone connectivity, dashboard auto-brightness, park assist, hill hold, auto indicator cut-off, and coasting regenerative braking.

Telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock handles the suspension duties of the electric scooter that rides on 12-inch wheels. Meanwhile, it packs a 200mm front disc and a 190mm rear disc for braking.

The Ather 450 Apex gets a 22-litre underseat storage and weighs 111.6kg.
