2022 MG ZS EV facelift launched in India; Know features, price and range

MG Motor has launched the 2022 MG ZS EV facelift in India today. The 2022 MG ZS EV gets update in terms of interior as well as exterior. It is noteworthy to mention that the 2022 MG ZS EV gets a larger battery than its outgoing model. The change in battery has improved the range of the EV. Currently, the 2022 MG ZS EV offers a range of 461km which is significantly more than the outgoing model.

Battery and range

The 2022 MG ZS EV offers a power of 176hp and maximum torque of 353Nm. The previous model produced a power of 143hp which is less by 33hp as compared to the current model. The current generation of the MG ZS EV can cover 0-100kph in 8.5 seconds. The 2022 MG ZS EV is powered by a 50.3kWh battery pack as compared to 44.5kWh battery pack on the previous model.

The current generation of ZS EV facelift offers a range of 461km as compared to 419km in the outgoing model.

Exterior

The new MG ZS EV is quite similar to that of the Astor that was launched in India last year. The MG ZS EV get slimmer headlamps, new LED DRLs and LED tail-lamps that are quite similar to that of Astor. The front and rear bumpers of the new EV get a sporty touch. The wheels of the EV are 17-inch alloy wheels. The colours that are offered on the new ZS EV are Ferris White, Currant Red, Ashen Silver and Sable Black.

Interior

When it comes to the interior of the MG ZS EV, there are small changes that make it different then its outgoing model. The dashboard is revised and the buttons look more similar to that of the Astor.

The EV gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a 7-inch digital driver display similar to that of Astor. Some of the important interior features are wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, lane assist, blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, hill descent control, ESC and TPMS.

Price

The MG ZS EV is offered in two variants Excite and ZS Exclusive. The Excite variant is the initial variant of MG ZS EV and costs Rs 21.99 lakh. The top spec variant of the MG ZS EV is the exclusive variant and it costs up to Rs 25.88 lakh.

Currently the Hyundai Kona electric is the only direct competitor of the MG ZS EV in India. The Kona Electric costs currently costs between Rs 23.79 and Rs 23.97 lakh. On the other hand the Tata Nexon EV.
