Nabarangpur: A man reportedly killed his niece after impregnating her on pretext of marriage in Nabarangpur district of Odisha on Friday.
The accused has been identified as Bhisma Harijan of Guma village under Tentulikhunti Block of the district.
According to reports, Bhisma developed love affair with his 24-year-old niece was studying Graduation in Nabarangpur.
Time and again Bhisma kept physical relationship with her promising to marry her.
According to sources, both of them had a fight over the phone due to some unknown reason. Later they entered the local High School at around 5 PM. Some locals had noticed them entering the high school.
However, the girl’s family members searched for her at all possible locations after she did not return home even though it was late evening.
Someone spotted the girl’s body on the premises of the school and thinking that she is alive rushed her to Tentulikhunti hospital where doctor declared her brought dead.
Later, the girl’s family members filed a complaint at Tentulikhunti Police station against Bhisma. Based on their allegation, police detained the accused and started an investigation into the matter.
However, police are yet to ascertain the reason behind the murder.
