Puri: The bamboo of the Patita pabana flag atop Srimandira of Puri broke due to heavy wind and rain that occurred Tuesday afternoon in this city of Odisha. Although, the rain brought respite, as people were in panic due to the heat wave and schorching sunlight in the last few days, it has also ruptured some elements.
As per reports, heavy black cloud moulded in the sky over the Srimandira of Puri on Tuesday afternoon which created a night like scene on a summer afternoon. Soon, it heavily poured and the holy flag atop the abode of Lord Jagannath got affected. Following the heavy rain, it was witnessed that the bamboo of the Patita Pabana flag had broken.
However, no other damage reported so far from Srimandira or from any place of Puri town.
