Reliance JioPhone 2 To Be Available From August 15

New Delhi: Reliance JioPhone 2 is all set to hit the market on August 15. The advanced 4G phone offers many interesting features viz. a physical keyboard, WhatsApp support and has been priced at Rs 2,999. Reliance JioPhone 2, which was announced at Reliance Industries Annual AGM last month, is a successor to Reliance’s JioPhone launched in 2017.

Registrations for JioPhone 2 will start on August 15. Those desiring to buy a JioPhone 2 can register through Jio’s official site or by using MyJio app. Once the site or app is opened, users need to click on JioPhone 2 registration page and then tap on ‘Get Now’ option. After this, the users will be asked to enter their personal details including name, contact number, address and so on. Payment of Rs 2,999 will be made only through net banking or via debit/credit card. There is no ‘Cash on Delivery’ option for payment. The phone will be delivered at the given address in a few days following the placement of order.

Interestingly, those currently using last year’s JioPhone will be able to exchange their devices with the brand new JioPhone 2 for just Rs. 501 under the JioPhone Monsoon Hungama Offer.

In terms of specifications, JioPhone 2 sports a 2.4-inch QVGA display and runs on KAI operating system, It comes with a 512MB RAM and 4GB onboard storage which can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 128GB). The phone offers a 2MP rear camera sensor and a VGA front camera sensor besides a 2,000mAh battery backup. Connectivity options include VoLTE, VoWiFi, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth, and FM radio. JioPhone 2 supports LTE Cat4 DL: 150Mbps/UL: 50Mbps, and LTE Band 2,5,40, 2G Band 900/1800.
