Soro: Tension ran high in Dhani village under Sabira panchayat in Balasore district on Monday after dead body of a youth was found on railway tracks under an overbridge in the area and his family member alleged it to be a case of murder.
The deceased has been identified as Sashikant Mallick (19) , son of Ramakant Mallick of the same village.
Ramakant who went out of his home last night did not return till late. Worried over the incident his family launched a frantic search in and around the village and spotted his mutilated body on a nearby railway track later in the night.
“We suspect that our son has been murdered by someone. He was returning home after dropping his brother-in-law at the bus stand. His bike was seen parked near the Udanta Pola, the overbridge under which he was found dead,” claimed the deceased’s mother.
Police have reached the spot and seized the body for autopsy.
An investigation is underway in the incident.
