World celebrates ‘Art of Giving’ 5th anniversary with much enthusiasm

Bhubaneswar: The 5th anniversary of the Art of Giving is being celebrated across the globe with much enthusiasm and participation of around 80 countries today. Several frontline organisations and noted personalities from various walks of life as well as the common people are taking part in this unique celebration which happens to be the brainchild of renowned educationist and founder of KIIT and KISS, Dr Achyuta Samanta.

Separate celebrations were held at Unit-III Exhibition Ground and Janta Maidan in the capital city where the fans club of KIIT, KISS and Dr Achyuta Samanta held the ‘Art of Giving’ day event. With an expected crowd turn up of around 1 lakh in the capital city this year, both the grounds witnessed a jam packed crowd with participants trying to garner happiness by sharing food packets with each other.

KIIT students’ and parents’ associations are holding the Art of Giving day events at around 5,000 places across the state while other organisations holding programs at 3,000 more locations.

Similarly, Hadi Bandhu Hali Foundation, a city based NGO has also organised an event here and distributed food to the children of prisoners. A separate program was also held at the Ekamra Haat in the presence of the members of artiste’s association.

Joining the celebration, almost all orphanages and old age homes in the capital city including the SOS Children’s Village are also organising the ‘Art of Giving’ day today.

While the theme of the 5th anniversary of the ‘Art of Giving’ day this year has been wittily chosen by the organisers as ‘Pyar Bhara Pack-Feeding with Love’. The celebration is being held with the people’s contribution as well as participation.

“Art of Giving is a philosophy of life just to spread peace and happiness among the people in the society. It suddenly stuck to me on the May 17, 2013 and it was founded on the same day. You will be happy to known that it was born out of my experience of acute poverty and hunger as well as humility in receiving and pleasure in giving since my childhood. I am happy that the 5th anniversary of the Art of Giving is being celebrated by the fan club of KIIT, KISS and Dr Achyuta Samanta as well as the stakeholders of both the organisation at around 22,000 places across 80 countries this year,” said Dr Achyuta Samanta ahead of the celebration.

Dr Samanta rose from the depths of poverty and deprivation to become a noted educationist and a social activist of the state. He chose to dedicate his life for the upliftment of tribal and his noble organisation KISS has brought him laurels from across the world.
